In language arts, our goal is for each student to be able to read and write on grade level by the end of the year. Some things we will cover this year are:
-predicting -asking questions while reading -noticing characters' point of view and changes -comparing and contrasting characters -comparing and contrasting books by the same author -identifying simile, metaphor, and onomatopoeia -using text features (headings, bullets, table of contents) -summarizing fiction and nonfiction -breaking a word into parts to understand its meaning -writing complete sentences -using correct capitalization and punctuation -using correct spelling

We will only do 10 journal entries and 10 word works activities instead of 20 each for this packet. Let me know if you have any questions.
